Heritage Walk At Tughlaqabad Fort

On a crisp and sunny February morning in Delhi, EASA members with members from SHoM, came together for an exciting heritage walk at the Tughlaqabad fort- the city's largest fort and one of its historical gems.
Historian Dr. Swapna Liddle led a walk where one came away with an enriched understanding of how the Tughlaq period influenced two critical pieces of Indian heritage: Language and Architecture.
As we made our way through steep stairwells, narrow underground passages, and finally reached the highest vista point of the fort, one couldn’t help but feel a sense of loss at how time has weathered its once-majestic grandeur. Nevertheless, the fort still stands strong against the ravages of time - waiting patiently to share its treasury of stories with those who seek to escape into history and our everyday lives.
