About EASA

The External Affairs Spouses' Association (EASA) traces its roots to 1971, when it was initially founded as the External Affairs Wives Association (EAWA) to represent and support the spouses of Indian Foreign Service officers. In January 2001, the association was renamed to reflect its inclusive membership and broadened scope. EASA’s mission, symbolized by its motto, "Sadev Ekam" “we are all one” is to foster strong social bonds among its members while engaging in meaningful cultural and humanitarian activities.

The association stays connected through various platforms, organising a number of events to engage with its members, including programs in Delhi, charity initiatives in India and abroad and through its website and social media presence on Facebook and Instagram. EASA also maintains regular interaction with the Spouses of Heads of Missions (SHoM) in New Delhi.

Since its inception, EASA has been actively involved in fostering a sense of community among its members and their families. It has a charitable arm, the EASA Charitable Trust (EASACT), which supports a wide range of philanthropic endeavours. Additionally, EASA hosts the EASA Book Club, which organizes regular book readings and interactive sessions with renowned authors, offering members the opportunity to engage with literary works and thought leaders.
