About EASA Charitable Trust (EASACT)
The Trust was created by the External Affairs Wives Association (EAWA) as a result of the resolution passed on October 6, 1977 by the association. A donation of Rs. 65,842.38 was made to the External Affairs Wives’ Association Charitable Trust (EAWACT) at its inception by the members. Since then, the Trust’s corpus saw substantial growth, largely due to fundraising activities both in India and from our Indian missions abroad, including Beijing, Vienna, New York and Moscow. A dedicated initiative committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, our trust strives to support education, healthcare and women empowerment, ensuring that help reaches those who need it the most.
The corpus is primarily invested in fixed deposits. Under the provisions of Income Tax regulations for charitable organizations, 85% of the income generated from the interest is donated to underprivileged sections of our society. The Trust’s accounts are audited every year, ensuring transparency and accountability.
