23rd May 2026 was a special day for the External Affairs Spouses’ Association as the MEA–EASA Library was inaugurated on the MEA Chanakyapuri Campus by Mrs Dolly Misri, President, EASA, in the presence of Foreign Secretary Shri Vikram Misri and Ms Aradhana Sharma, Vice-President, EASA.

Created through a unique collaboration between the MEA Library and EASA, the library houses a growing collection of books ranging from EASA Book Club selections to International Relations, popular fiction and a large collection of children’s books for all ages.

In his remarks, Mr Vikram Misri encouraged children to read widely and use the library generously, reminding everyone how books expand our worlds and horizons. He also congratulated the Executive Committee of EASA for developing such spaces for MEA community.

The EASA spirit of collective effort and thoughtful contribution could be felt throughout the space. It found expression in Mrs Ratnamala Sarma’s Warli paintings, which depicted the joy of learning and the growth of creativity inspired by reading, and in the specially commissioned ceramic birds, facilitated by Ms Aradhana Sharma, which evoked the flight of imagination, and brought a special warmth and charm to the reading rooms.

We hope the library with this partnership between EASA and MEA, will grow into a lively and much loved corner on campus, creating a community space that encourages conversation, friendship and a love of reading!
