On October 5, 2024, members of the External Affairs Spouses Association (EASA) gathered at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan for a captivating session centered around the book Contemporary China: Tradition and Modernity by the distinguished author and EASA member, Mrs. Poonam Surie.

The event was warmly received by members, who were treated to an insightful exploration of modern-day China, examining the intricate dynamics between tradition and modernity, as well as the complex relationship between the state and society in this rapidly evolving nation. Mrs. Surie’s thought-provoking analysis and deep understanding of China’s socio-political landscape resonated with many attendees, particularly those who had been posted in China.
